Filtraphorix™

Nasal delivery for peptide formulations

Filtraphorix™ is Lavi MD's proprietary process. Described here from Lavi MD's published technology page, https://lavimd.store/filtraphorix-technology/. VRLOV West Palm Beach does not own or license the name.

What it is

Filtraphorix™ is Lavi MD's proprietary nasal delivery technology for peptide compounds. It was developed with compounding pharmacists and informed by peptide research.

It is the base used in Lavi MD's nasal sprays. It is not a drug, an active ingredient, or an approved delivery device.

The problem it is intended to address

Peptides taken by mouth meet stomach acid and digestive enzymes. Lavi MD describes this as limiting how much of an oral peptide is absorbed.

How it is described to work

  • Nasal sprays are absorbed across the nasal mucosa, which Lavi MD describes as a thin tissue rich in blood vessels.
  • Lavi MD states that this route avoids the first pass through the gut and liver, and compares the reasoning to that behind existing nasal medications.

What evidence is offered

  • For Semax, Selank and DSIP, the source page says researchers study the nasal route for possible access to the central nervous system, and calls this an active area of study rather than a settled finding.
  • No clinical outcome data or study citations are given on the source page.

Limitations

  • Compounded medications are not FDA-approved. The FDA has not reviewed these preparations for safety, effectiveness or quality.
  • Lavi MD states that its claims have not been evaluated by the FDA.
  • Despite the name, the source page gives no detail on filtration method, particle size or stability, so we do not describe any.
  • A delivery route that is well reasoned is not the same as a demonstrated clinical benefit.

Where it is used

Products that use it

These four are the nasal sprays named on the Lavi MD source page. That page carries an editorial note asking for the list to be matched to the live nasal products, so treat the mapping as supplied rather than independently verified. Our other nasal sprays are not listed there and are not claimed here.

This page describes a formulation process and is general information, not medical advice. It makes no claim that any compound is safe or effective. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved. Medical evaluation, prescribing and dispensing are overseen by Dr. Sasson E. Moulavi, MD, our Medical Director and Dispensing Physician. The wellness coach does not diagnose or prescribe.
